Dogs Unchained
An NFT collection for dog lovers
About Dogs Unchained
Dogs Unchained is a community for NFT collectors, dog lovers & IRL dogs on the blockchain (and in the metaverse). Each Dog is an ERC-721 token with deflationary mechanics, and the supply will only decrease from 9,999: through brand new blockchain technology, you can mix two Dogs in the Boom Boom Room, and selectively combine their traits, and create a single Superdog. Importantly, members will support dogs through charity when they mint and also memorialize their amazing IRL canines in the metaverse.
I was part of the team as a freelance contractor through Amplifi Labs. I was responsible for crafting the first version of the experience to buy this NFT collection through the website. My role was to define the structure and visuals (UX/UI) for the responsive design being published in the first semester of 2021.
What started as 9,999 Dogs on the blockchain has been reduced to less than 7,000 Dogs because of our fully on-chain deflationary tech!
Defining the experience
The features available at the moment I was part of this project were minting a dog and the Boom Boom Room, where members could mix 2 Dogs, entirely on the blockchain. They would choose which of each dog's traits they’d like to keep and create the ultimate Superdog to represent themselves. While 2 Dogs enter the Boom Boom Room, one Superdog comes out, decreasing supply forever.

The full NFT collection is available on Opensea, and the project grew into other experiences, for example, Dogs Unchained hosting an evergreen "dog park" in the metaverse, so that your dogs can be memorialized on the blockchain forever. On the occasion, photos of members’ dogs would be side by side with 9,998 other amazing dogs from the NFT community.
Design system
It was part of my job to define components and visual identity to be used going forward in this project. My participation was limited to the first version released, which is not online anymore - the first library looked like this:
